MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 104 runs

Match report Mildenhall 1st X1 took the short journey to neighbours Worlington, with the home team still looking for their first victory against Mildenhall since their promotion three seasons ago. Mildenhall batted first and soon lost Joe Reed when he was bowled by Shaun Cooper without scoring. Hamzah Ikram became Cooper’s second victim when he was bowled for 4. Ben Shepperson and Steve Taylor restored Mildenhalls innings adding 55 before Shepperson (22) hit a catch to Cooper off Steve Flack. Taylor continued his fine form of the season as he and Tom Allen compiled a 91 run partnership. Taylor reached his century (a run a ball) shortly before being bowled by Flack for 105. Tom Allen (36) was out soon after being trapped lbw by Nathan Twiddy. Ziaf Kulasi took full advantage of his old team, hitting 4 sixes in a quick fire 43 while young Matt Allen (46*) helped himself to 6 fours and a 6. Meanwhile Craig Wollard grabbed a couple more wickets at the other end as Mildenhall finished on 286 for 8.
In reply Worlington were always on the back foot losing wickets at regular intervals. Hamzah Ikram dismissed both Jim Watson (17) and Richard Ford (22) and then Darren Haywood for 11 all after Tom Allen had deceived and trapped Ben Hyde lbw for 12. Chris Baugh went cheaply to Joe Reed for 9 leaving Worlington on 87 for 5. Cooper (8) became Reed second wicket with the score on 107. It then became attrition as Graham Ford firstly with Jon Peachey (13) and then with Twiddy (17) tried to deny Mildenhall bowling points. However with Taylor coming back to remove Ford for 51 and Ikram securing the last two wickets the home team were eventually dismissed for 182. Maximum points once again meant Mildenhall remain league leaders. Hamzah Ikram finished with 5 for 33 and Joe Reed 2 for 28
