Ipswich v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 1st XI - Sat on Sat 06 Jul 2013 at 1.00p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 77 runs

Match report On the hottest Saturday for two years Mildenhall 1st x1 travelled to bottom of the table Ipswich with high hopes of completing a hat trick of wins. The home side invited Mildenhall to bat first. Andy Squire made a rare appearance as an opener and he and Alex Reynolds made a steady if not too confidant a start. For Ipswich Hondo and Howe posed a few questions with some good line and length bowling. Reynolds survived a close caught and bowled off Hondo and then saw an edge go down behind the wicket. With the score on 28 Squire (15) missed time a shot and lofted catch to extra cover to give Hondo a first wicket. Erik Laubscher joined Reynolds and the pair brought up 50. They gave Mildenhall a launch pad with 67 on the board by the 20th over for the loss of just one wicket. Ipswich struck back as Laubscher was deceived by Watling and was bowled for 26 and 3 runs later Reynolds (26) was caught behind off the same bowler. Panic set in as Luke Turner danced down the wicket and was stumped for 4 and Jack Beaumont tried an expansive loft and was out for a duck. Young Jon Allen held up one end as Steve Lankester bludgeoned 5 boundaries at the other and the two of them saw up the Mildenhall 100.Heart ruled the head however having just put Catlow straight back over his head for 6, Lankester holed out next ball and was gone for 29. Allen was bowled for 3. With overs beginning to run out Karl Holmes tried working the ball around but having made 12 was adjudged lbw while trying to reverse sweep. Warraich and Bowman succumbed quickly and Ipswich had bowled Mildenhall out for 130.

In last years fixture Tymal Mills had taken 8 wickets and it was going to take a Herculean task again for Mildenhall to defend their low score. Up stepped AJ Warraich. Three wickets in his first two overs left the home side reeling on 2 for 3.His line and length was spot on as he struck the stumps twice. Ipswich never recovered .the wickets just kept tumbling. Jamie Allen rowed in with a couple of wickets in an aggressive spell from the other end, but it was Warraich who continued to wreak havoc. With good back up from the Mildenhall fielders Warraich struck four more times to finish on 7 for 27. Ipswich slumped to 54 all out when Jack Beaumont bowled Elford and allowed Mildenhall to claim maximum points
