Match report Mildenhall 2s won the toss and unsurprisingly batted first at Woolpit on Saturday.
Will Parker was a real threat and took the wickets of Jon Allen, Du Plooy and Ryan Clark in his first spell.
The middle order quickly followed and that left us reeling at 97-6 in the 22nd over.
In came Kieron Davis to join Dom Palmer and the re-build started.
The pair put on a fantastic stand of 148 until Palmer was out caught in the deep for an excellent 123. Davis then followed in the pursuit for quick late runs m, stumped for 52. A fine innings in the circumstances. JKM hit 12 off Northcote’s final over to take the 2s to a respectable 265-9.
A great recovery from a dire position.

In the field we started well with Griffin taking the wicket of Parker in his first over and Jim getting Coombs caught behind of the first ball of his 2nd over, leaving Woolpit at 10-2.
This bought in Northcote who then took control of the game and with the help of a below par bowling performance saw his side to victory with a very fine 145 not out.
JKM took 1-34 off 10, Murti 1-43 off 10, Jim 1-52 off 9 and Griffin 1-50 off 7.
At no point did we apply pressure from both ends.
However, we showed great character with the bat and I would have bitten your hand off for 7 points out of the game when we were 97-6.
