The new fantasy cricket website is now fully updated with the latest player additions and can be accessed directly from the club website by following the link.

Creation and selection of your team is very straight forward, just follow the on screen instructions. You will see some of the scoring structure is different to how we have run it previously, notably less penalty points for bowlers and double points for your selected captain.

Please pay special attention to the rules section as this website can be used weekly as interactively as you like. So for example you can change your captain weekly and also one of your players at no cost. If you wish to make more than one player swap per week then you are 'charged' points from your totals. We are hoping this will bring an even higher level of weekly interest in your teams performances. Special note here that any of your eleven players can be made captain by you, he or she doesn't have to be the actual team captain on the day.

Two differences to the website rules to note. Firstly as in previous years each team must have at least one lady player in the side. I will check these on a weekly basis to ensure this is happening. Secondly the website shows points for run outs. We have decided in year one not to award run outs as the score books are not always of a high enough standard to record these accurately.

Score books brings us nicely onto a further point. Given we can only enter the information presented to us, then the data entered will only be as accurate for each player as the score books allow. To help team Captains, Tony and myself can each player help their scorers and captains by checking all information covering their own performance such as bowlers names, catchers names, stumping etc are accurate at the end of each game please. It will be difficult to go back and alter information once submitted.

Finally given the season starts this coming Saturday we will not enter any player scores until Friday week. This will give you all this week and most of next to select a team in time. A team can be entered at any point in the season, but you will have missed any points gained by players for previous games. Player performances will count from all Saturday and Sunday league games from the 7 possible teams involved. Youth, friendly and midweek are excluded.

Ooops almost forgot. Prize! The winner with the highest points will win a bat from Hunts County Bats made to order for size etc. Cost of entry is £10/team as in previous years. Funds will go to the club. Money can be either given directly to me or electronically into the club bank account, but please make sure you note it is for fantasy cricket payment.

Finally, finally for those people who have selected a team already you should be able to go back and ensure you have considered the updated players and also ensure you have a lady in your team.
