MCC Youth Presentation Evening

The Youth Academy held their annual awards evening at the pavilion last night . Host Graeme Jones welcomed a large gathering of  players and parents along with team managers and coaches. He thanked the volunteers and parents for their part in making the season a success Special thanks went out to Mark Milner, Kevin Boardman and Chic Cooper for their assistance with the all year round coaching of the juniors. In the absence of team manager Steve Hunt, Graeme detailed the achievements of the U11's. Kevin and Lou as team managers of the U13's and U15's then reported on the successes of their two teams, with both acknowledging how well the young teams had played to the spirit of the game.

Also highlighted was the fact that 14 juniors had taken part in senior Saturday games during the season and that many of them would be the backbone of the club for many years to come.

Graeme also took the opportunity to introduce Brian Rayner who has accepted a role as Senior Youth Coach for 2017. Brian said he was pleased to come to a club that he wished he had joined when first asked over 20 years ago.

Following the speeches the awards were presented to the following list of youngsters.

U11 Bowler of the Year – Charlie Feehan

U13 Bowler of the Year – Mo Ubaid (absent)

 

Batsman of the Year – Gabe Jones

U11 Batsman of the Year – Ben Palmer

U15 Batsman of the Year – Jonny Storey

 

Fielder of the Year – Rueben Handy

U11 Fielder of the Year – John Howard

U13 Fielder of the Year -Connor Cobbold

 

Most Improved Player of the Year – Mo Ubaid

U11 Most Improved – Toby Franklin

U15 Most Improved – Alex Cruickshank

 

Performance of the Year by a Youth team player – Gabe Jones
