MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB News story

MCC Sponsorship

11 Dec 2016

I am sure you are aware of the on-field success the club had last year and for those of you at the AGM you will be aware of the costs of running a club the size of MCC.  The operating costs are considerable and the demands on the club both on and off the field will increase with participation in the East Anglian Premier League.

Our finance committee have met to discuss a balanced budget for 2017 and in order to meet our operating costs we need to increase our revenue. This can be achieved in a number of ways but our two major forms of revenue are bar profits and sponsorship.

On the bar profits front, you will notice that we will be having more social events (the first quiz of the new financial year has already occurred and the next one lined up for January, along with a Race Night in early 2017) which build both a stronger club through increasing the numbers and diversity of people using the facility and consequently improves cash-flow and bottom line profit.  This is a win-win and we will be publishing a schedule of social activities for the year early in 2017 so you can get the dates in your diaries early.

Our main income is sponsorship.  Sponsorship obviously helps the club but should also be of benefit to the sponsor.  Attached is a document put together by the finance committee which details why MCC could be an attractive sponsorship option.  In reality, the best way to get new sponsors is through word of mouth or personal contacts.  This is where you may be able to help.  If you know a business or individual who you can introduce the finance committee to and they can successfully conclude a deal for Bronze Sponsorship (£500) or above, we would offer to pay your subscription for the year.  Hopefully that way everybody wins!

If you would like to discuss the opportunity in any more detail please feel free to contact Nick Allen, Mark Thurston, Andy Youngs, Lee Chipchase or myself.

Cheers

Lou
