Shortly our website provider will begin to upgrade the Mildenhall Cricket Club website. One of the first changes you will notice is the need to  change your login name and password. This is all part of the new General Data Protection Regulations that come into law in May. Please do not change anything until prompted.

Hitssports inform us

"This system update includes a few amendments to assist in compliance with this impending regulation.  The key features that this update brings are an amendment to member passwords, with all passwords will be required to be secure (you can opt out of this bit we strongly recommend you don't).  Secure passwords are critical to ensuring your members data is kept safe.

One of the requirements for the new regulation is to enable people "to be forgotten".  This translates to ensuring all personal data is removed from the system.  The system allows you to clear personal data when a member is moved to past members.  This system feature is designed to ensure old member playing data is retained, effectively the new feature will ensure old member statistics can be retained without retaining any personal information.

We will be looking further at ensuring the system makes the task of compliance easy.  For the avoidance of doubt in GDPR terms, Hitssports is the data processor, and you as the club are the data controller.  We will ensure all our responsibilities as a data processor are met, and additionally work to make your job easier to meet your obligations as a data controller.  More on this to follow in due course."

The main committee has formed a sub committee that will ensure all the data of our members and the club is subject to the controls the new regulations require.

Other changes to the website includes a much larger storage space for photos and videos.
