On Saturday evening Mildenhall Cricket Club held their fifth annual MildenHALL OF FAME induction evening. Martin Taylor again fulfilled the Master of Ceremonies role, keeping the audience amused with his "off the wall" style.  There were two new inductees, the first, Beryl Squire was introduced by Jean Cornell. Jean spoke warmly about Beryl's work for the club over many years. Jean also read Beryl's citation that has been added to the fifteen previous inductees. John Squire accepted Beryl's plaque and pin badge and said how pleased he was for her and how proud she would have been to know she had been honoured .Andrew Squire then got up and spoke about how although it was for his mother/ he felt it was a thank you for all the work undertaken by the ladies of the club.

The club was able to also welcome Ian Handy who spoke proudly about the second inductee, his brother Lou.  He read Lou's citation and also read out some kind words from two of Lou's  long term playing friend, Chris Reeve and Steve Hunt.  Lou , without the aid of a handkerchief, reminisced about the forty years he has played for the club and the many wonderful times he has had being a member of Mildenhall Cricket Club. He thanked Angie and all his family for the support they have given him over many years.

Saturday night's event has now become part of the Pre-season fundraising dinner. This was the seventh such occasion and in that time the club has raised close to £10k. It is the brain child of Kevin Boardman and he has promoted it each year since. He has been wonderfully supported by " Masterchef" Craig Warren. Sally and Sue have also given tremendous backroom support over this time and were all involved again this year,  also Tina helped in the kitchen. Thanks  go to team of enthusiastic waiters, Reuben, Eden, Lily, Arriana and Rhys.
