Well done to the U15 team who defeated Easton at Easton last night in the County cup final.
An exciting night – when 40 were needed off the last 5 overs all looked lost – the winning run was scored with one ball to go!!!
A great team effort with tight bowling from Seb Lawson and Sean Ward – and a great fielding performance. A quick 28 from Matt Webb kept us in with a chance after a solid start by Alfie Marston and James Van De Peer.
Then it became sacrifice your wicket if necessary - but get some quick runs.
Ashley Clark and Alex Wilkens were in at the death after Sean Ward hit a vital 3 and Jon Allen and Jack Bowman had been run out trying to steal extra runs – Ash & Al withstood the pressure – time for suicide singles and accepting vital overthrows as the pressure built. In the last over Wilko’s 4 yard push on the off on the 5th ball grabbed the vital 2 runs. Yes!! 4 yards – 2 runs!!
Well done to the team and skipper Kieren Davis - who did a great job on the night.
A big thanks to the parents for their support
