MCC Dinner Dance press report

"On Saturday night close on 100 people attended the Mildenhall Cricket Clubs Dinner, Dance and Awards event held the Riverside Hotel. During the dinner Ben Shepperson proposed a toast to the clubs volunteers and Andrew Zajac proposed a toast to the wellbeing of the club.

In the awards part of the evening Chairman Lou Handy reprised the season and highlighted the league wins by the clubs Indoor team, The Sunday 1st X1,The Saturday 2nd X1 and the Saturday 3rd X1.The 1st X1s Saturday and Sunday player of the year awards were both won by the clubs 2014 player coach Kobus Scholtz. During the season Scholtz broke the clubs aggregate runs record by scoring over 1800 runs.

The Saturday 2nd X1 award went to Martin Kingdon who took 44 wickets in the Two Counties Division 3 during the season. The 3rd X1 award was won for a fifth time in six years by James Taylor. He also picked up an award for being the Two Counties Division 5 leading batsman. The clubs young player Matt Heywood took the 4th X1 player of the year title while another youngster Jack Horn took the Sunday 2nd X1 award. Fielder of the year went to wicketkeeper Eddie Finnis and another teenager Jon Allen was named Most Improved player. Pippa Palmer was voted Ladies player of the year and Megan Arnold took the Most Improved ladies player award.

The President’s award was won by Craig Warren for his voluntary work within the club. The President also recognised the support Craig received from his partner Susan and she was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

The Chairman presented Ladies Captain Kayleigh Francis with flowers for her part in organising a very successful evening."
