The Final Curtain 2015

After completing all their league fixtures Mildenhall Cricket Club ended the season hosting the inaugural Suffolk NatWest Under 19 County Finals. In the morning Hadleigh saw off Easton while hosts Mildenhall beat Copdock by 56 runs. In the afternoon Mildenhall comfortably beat Hadleigh by 102 runs. It was left to Mildenhall Captain Tom Allen to collect the new competition trophy as Mildenhall became the first Suffolk County Under 19’s Champions.

Also completed have been the Youth Cricket awards for the club. Player of the year went to Connor Cobbold. Best Bowler was Josh Jones and Best with the Bat went to Raeel Afaal. Most Improved player was shared by Maddox Colby and Mo Ubaid while retiring Youth Academy manager Kevin Boardman nominated Ben Palmer to receiver the All Rounder award.

 

Finally on Sunday a Social match saw the Presidents X1 defeat the Chairman’s X1. Winning captain Andy Youngs accepted the Cousins Shield from Lou Handy. Steve Ready for the Chairman’s team and Rick Horn for the Presidents team collected awards for the stand out performances on the day.
