Match report Mildenhall 1st X1 travelled to Frinton in a Division One game of the Two Counties League. It promised to be a hard fought match and so it proved. Mildenhall batted first and opener Ziaf Kulasi (2) went caught behind with just 7 on the board. Jimmy Watson joined Richard Cross and the pair added 70 before Cross (41) was caught by J.Hall off second change bowler T.Lawes. Fran Bester joined Watson and they completed a half-century partnership before Bester (35) was caught by Captain N.Baines off T.Lawes. Andy .Squire (6) made a brief appearance before offering a catch to A. Stubbs for Lawes third wicket. Watson (44) was unable to go on and make that big score that Mildenhall needed and it was once again Lankester (39) who helped Mildenhall past 200 as they closed on 206 for 7

In reply Frinton did not get off to the best of starts losing three wickets with 38 on the board. Bester claimed two and Tymal Mills one. Frinton then added 50 before Bester struck again taking a further brace and leaving Frinton on 96 for 5. The game slowly swung back to Frinton as Everson and Hall compiled 67 valuable runs before Lankester had Hall caught by Mills for 31. Young Adam White had Everson (40) caught by Squire and Frinton on 180 for 7. Lawes and Panjya battled on for Frinton, and with just one over remaining the pair required 10 to win. Yet despite hitting Bester for 6 off the fourth ball they could only manage three off the rest of the over to leave the teams tied and points shared. Skipper Karl Holmes was pleased with the all-round effort of his side. Bester was the pick of the bowling with 4 for 70.
