MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost Woolpit won by 101 runs

Match report The second X1 entertained Woolpit in a Division Two match of the Two Counties League. The real entertainment however was provided by a wonderful innings of197 not out by A.Northcote the Woolpit opener. He displayed a magnificent range of shots, his footwork was impressive and his stamina as strong at the end of the innings as at the beginning. With the top order chipping in around him including 52 from G.Pilgrim Woolpit amassed 314 for 5.

Mildenhall made a spirited start through Richard Thurston (27) and James Taylor 34) However they both then offered catches to bring together debutant Adam Curtis and Luke Turner who was in search of seasons runs. Curtis proved the more forceful of the pair as he compiled 59 as they took the score to 140.D.Steward struck to remove Curtis and Turner (34) and from then Mildenhalls innings stuttered to a close leaving them on 201 for 6 and defeat by 113 runs.
