Match report Mildenhall 1st XI vs Mistley 1st XI
Mildenhall firsts hosted Mistley opening with Chris Baugh & Ziaf Kulasi. After a decent opening partnership Baugh was caught in the gully, at the 3rd attempt for 11. Lankester also departed early, caught behind for 10. Kulasi was joined at the wicket by Jimmy Watson and the pair took Mildenhall to 80-2 before Kulasi was adjudged LBW for 37.
Watson times the ball well through the leg side and passed 50 for the second time this year. Unfortunately Watson struggled to find a partner and after he was out for 88 the innings fell away slightly. The introduction of James Holmes into the attack produced the 3rd wicket, Tymal Mills timed his dive perfectly to pluck the ball one handed when it seem destined for the boundary. Karl Holmes then produced a fine stumping off the bowling of Martin Taylor to leave the visitors 47-4. Mistley's overseas player and captain then formed a partnership that looked to have given Mistley the advantage. Captain Holmes turned to Lwana and he delivered the breakthrough that Mildenhall needed bowling J Manning for 25.
With 65 needed from the last 10 overs with 4 wickets left it was still anybody game. Alex Reynolds then picked up a key run out and then Baugh took a fantastic catch off Lwana.
