Match report Mildenhall 1st XI vs Wivenhoe
Mildenhall 1st team looked for another home win as they hosted Wivenhoe in a game reduced to 45 overs due to frequent showers. After winning the toss captain Karl Holmes chose to bat. After a small delay the game started as Ziaf Kulasi attacked the Wivenhoe bowlers scoring 24 before being dismissed in the 6th over. Mildenhall then lost more wickets to fall to 65-3 before Alex Reynolds & Ben Shepperson steadied the innings with a partnership of 43 before Shepperson was LBW for 23 However Luke Turner and Reynolds rotated the strike well, Reynolds falling LBW for 56 with the score on 138. James Holmes scored 19 and took the score over 200 in a partnership of 45 with Turner for the 7th wicket. Some late hitting meant Mildenhall finished on 224-9 with Turner unbeaten on exactly 50.

With opening bowler T Mills out injured James Holmes opened the bowling from the river end and tool the first 2 wickets to fall. Fellow opening bowler Lennox Lwana bowled with no fortune an frequently passed the outside edge of the Wivenhoe batsmen. A couple of showers interrupted the Wivenhoe innings and with the cloud gathering the threat of bad light increased. Martin Taylor was introduced into the attack and bowled his best spell of the year as wickets tumbled, in partnership with Steven Lankester they ripped through the Wivenhoe batting line up who lost their last 6 wickets for just 5 runs, collapsing from 75-4 to 80 all out. Taylor finishing with
4-7 from 9 overs, supported by Lankester 3-17 and James Holmes 2-18.
