Worlington v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 2nd XI - Sat on Sat 15 May 2010 at 1.00 p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 2 wickets
Match report
Mildenhall 2nd XI made the short journey to local and undefeated rivals Worlington.
Worlington won the toss and elected to bat first and after an early wicket ex-Mildenhall players Richard & Graham Ford formed a large partnership. Mildenhall turned to Steven Ready to get the breakthrough and he duly delivered, bowling Graham Ford for 46 before heading off on a lap of honour and jumping several feet in the air. Richard Ford then fell in the next over, caught behind off Andrew Youngs.
Mildenhall then continue to pick up wickets although Worlington hit some lusty blows towards the end finishing on a competitive 231 for 9. Ready & Ollie Watson finishing with 2 each and Youngs taking 5 wickets for the second time this year.
Mildenhalls reply started well with opening batsmen Steven Grinling making 21 and Adam Trett 26. Andrew Squire provided the backbone of the Mildenhall innings making 56 however a continual loss of wickets left the game in the balance. The lower order of Richard Thurston, Adam White & Andrew Youngs all contributed 20s to the score but it was left to Ollie Watson to hit two lusty blows into the neighbouring field to seal the game.
