Kelvedon & Feering v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 2nd XI - Sat on Sat 10 Jul 2010 at 1.00 p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 2 wickets
Match report
Mildenhall 2nd X1 journeyed down to Kelvedon and Feering to play a Two Counties Division Three match. The home side batted first and the young Mildenhall bowlers put in a commendable performance in bowling them out for 180. Their fielders who hung onto seven catches backed them up. O.Parsons (68) topped scored for Kelvedon. Jamie Allen and Ben Tippett took three wickets a piece and Steve Ready grabbed a further two.
Mildenhalls reply faltered when half the side was out with only 73 runs on the board, 31 of these had come from Alex Reynolds. The game turned dramatically however when Eddie Finnis survived after a big appeal for first a stumping and then a catch off the same ball. The decision disturbed Kelvedons concentration and they allowed Finnis and Captain Andy Young to claw Mildenhall back into the game with a partnership of 65. Youngs was eventually run out for 29. Finnis made 31 before being caught by Burt off Peperell. However the impetus was now with Mildenhall as Jamie Allen (22*) and Tom Allen (15) got near to the wire. Tom Allen was bowled near the end to give Peperell his sixth wicket of the innings before Jamie Allen and Ben Tippett saw Mildenhall home and a win by 3 wickets.
