Match report On the adjacent pitch Mildenhall 3rd X1 played Achilles in a division 5 game of the Two Counties league. Once again it was a Mildenhall side batting first. They made a good start as Lou Handy (19) and Mick Saunders put on 52. The rejuvenated Saunders (59) went on to reach a well made half century. Middle order batsmen Lee Chipchase (42) and Steve Hunt (43) ensued the scoreboard ticked along and Chris Reeve rowed in with a quick 27 to give Mildenhall a close of innings score of 248 for 7.

It was early on that Lee Chipchase with the ball took the game away from Achilles as he picked up four wickets (three in one over). Achilles left on 23 for 4 were then always struggling to get back in the match and despite a gallant effort by Smith (83) and a not out 52 by Stockley, the visitors finished on 205 for 9. Chipchase finished with 4 for 30 and skipper Handy took 3 for 34 as the home side won by 43 runs.
