MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 3rd XI - Sat v Tuddenham on Sat 07 Aug 2010 at 1.00p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 59 runs
Match report
Meanwhile on the second Wamil Way pitch Mildenhall 3rd X1 and Tuddenham did not let a little rain spoil their afternoon’s entertainment. Mildenhall faced Tuddenhams strongest team of the season. They batted first and suffered an early set back when Graham bowled Ryan Clark for 3. James Taylor came in at three to partner Mick Saunders, however what looked like a blossoming partnership was cut short when Saunders (17) fell to a catch by Shimmens off the bowling of Campbell. Neil Clark and Taylor took the score to 70 before Clark (18) departed caught Smith bowled Pryke. Mildenhalls resolve held as Taylor now partnered by Andy Francis move the score first passed 100 and then 150. When Francis (38) danced down the wicket and was stumped he and Taylor had added 85. Tuddenham finally dismissed Taylor bowled by Shimmens for 81. , his innings left him again on course for a 1000 runs in a season. Chris Reeve (23*) and Jon Absalon (17*) pushed Mildenhall up and passed 200. The home side finished their innings on 213 for 6.
Tuddenham made a valiant attempt at their target despite losing opener David Cross through an early run out and some fine containing bowling from Absalon (10 overs for just 12 runs). They had individual performances through M.Smith 36, S.Graham 29 and K.Pryke 22. It was Mildenhall who claimed the spoils. Chris Reeve came on second change to pick up 5 or 45 and Jack Beaumont claimed 3 for 49 and Tuddenham ended on 154 for 9.
