Match report Sunday saw an amazing Hunts County Bats game between Mildenhall 1st X1 and their hosts Ampton and Culford. It turned out not to be a day for bowlers to improve their stats: The home side batted first and both openers made centuries. C.Estlea scored 132 and his partner C.Rutterford 103. Ampton and Culford ended their 40 overs on 324 for 4. For Mildenhall, Osbourne and Chipchase took two wickets each.
Remarkably Mildenhall managed to get close to chasing down this high score. Frannie Bester returning to his home club made an outstanding 159. Opener Ben Shepperson hit a quick fire 38 and Chris Baugh picked up a half century. The late order however perished in the cause and Mildenhall were bowled out for 314 some 10 runs short of their opponents. Ampton and Culfords D.Goodwin took 4 for 80.
