Meanwhile the 2ndX1 visited Hartest and Coldham. The home side batted first and accumulated 155 for 9. They were restricted early on by Mildenhalls teenage open attack of Tom Allen and Jo Turner. However Allen proved even more effective when the bowlers were replaced and he took two superb boundary catches. Pete Webb and Steve Ready bowled well in tandem with Ready returning the better figures of 3 for 26 off 10 overs. In the latter stages of the innings as Hartest increased their run rate Allen, Jordan Francis and James Taylor all got wickets, but not before Atkinson had made an aggressive 43 for the home side.
In reply Mildenhall got a steady but quiet start through Danny Turner (7) and Nick Allen (13). With Turner gone James Taylor (22) came in looking for his first big innings of the season and things looked promising until he missed time a ball that wasn’t for driving and was caught. Tony Cornell joined his Over 60’s partner Peter Webb and the pair improved the scoring rate as they added 50. Cornell went bowled for 21 and the skipper Andy Carter fell lbw next ball. Mildenhall then lost Webb (39) lbw to Moriarty and the away sides best last chance had gone. The youngsters in the tail kept up what proved to be a forlorn chase as Mildenhall fell 6 runs short on 150 for 8.For Hartest Moriarty was the
