MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 83 runs
Match report
Mildenhall 1st looked to bounce back from their defeat last weekend as the travelled to 3rd place Frinton. However batting first the visitors were soon in trouble as they had lost their first 4 wickets for just 41 runs. However, opener Jo Reed was once again in form he anchored the Mildenhall innings with a fine 79. Steven Lankester scored a quick fire 53 and with contributions from the lower order of Squire & Lwana Mildenhall closed on 222-9.
Mildenhall were once again missing opening bowler Tymal Mills who was called up to the Essex side. However the new opening combination of James Holmes & Lennox Lwana struck early. Lwana picking up 2 early wickets. Holmes bowled 11 tight overs for just 13 runs whilst also picking up a wicket and pushing Frinton behind the required rate. Jo Reed also bowled tightly and picked up regular wickets of the Frinton middle order.
Lwana then returned to finish off the innings in quick time as he finished with his first 5 wickets (for 44)haul for Mildenhall whist Reed finished with 4 wickets.
The win kept Mildenhall in 2nd place, just 7 points behind leaders Wivenhoe.
