Maldon v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 1st XI - Sat on Sat 10 Sep 2011 at 12.30p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 8 wickets
Match report
Mildenhall 1st X1 spent nearly as much time travelling backwards and forwards to Maldon as it did to wrap an 8 wicket win on Saturday. Maldon were demolished in 25 overs for just 59 runs. For Maldon only M.Coker put up any resistance finishing on 20. Mildenhalls opening bowlers Lennox Lwana (3 for11) and Ahmad Warraich (2 for 25) took out the top order and then James Holmes (3 for7) and Steve Lankester (2 for 13) made light work of the tail order batsmen.
Mildenhall raced to 20 points as they completed their run chase in just over 10 overs. Ben Shepperson made 37 and Chris Baugh was not out 13. With top of the table Copdock also having a facile win against Ipswich, Mildenhall go into next weeks last match of the season still one point behind the leader. Next Saturday will see mobile phones will constant use for updates as Mildenhall take on Wivenhoe at Wamil Way while Copdock have a final fixture against Coggeshall. Mildenhall hope it is the cricket rather than the weather that decides the Two Counties Division One Title. Should there be a tie for the league next Sunday 18th of September will see a play off with a toss of the coin to decide which club will be at home.
