Mildenhall 4th X1 were without their regular Captain Nick Allen and they had Mark Thurston deputising.Mildenhall batted first in their home match with East Bergholt 2nd X1 in a Two Counties division seven match. The Mildenhall openers treated the spectators to a 131 partnership. Mick Saunders returned to form making 69 while his opening partner Lily Reynolds looked to be moving to a first century in her Two Counties career, however to the disappointment to the home crowd she was bowled by J.White for 95.Richard Thurston just back from University looked in good form finishing on 49 *. Mildenhall closed their innings on 271 for 4.
East Bergholts hope of victory were soon dash as they lost their first three wickets for 13 runs. O.Barron and S.Bower added 50. Martin Kingdon was to have a field day as East Bergholt lost their last 7 wickets for just 19. “Killer “ Kingdon bowled unchanged from the River Lark end and finished with 7 for 31 off 14.5 overs. O.Barron top scored with 33 as the away side were dismissed for 84. Mark Thurston took two wickets and Martin Coverdale the other one.
