Match report Mildenhalls 2nd X1’s home fixture was a much closer and exciting affair. Mildenhall batted first against Battisford 2nd X1 and made 178 for 8 in their 40 overs. Mildenhalls young Jordan Francis batted resolutely through out the innings making an unbeaten 69.

Battisford made a strong start before James Taylor broke through taking a superb caught and bowled chance to dismiss opener T.Pemberton for 25. Battisford like Mildenhall batted round their opener C.Bull however with the reintroduction of Joe Turner he bowled Bull for 67. When Renoux Van Overmeire bowled J.Tucker (26) it left the visitors requiring 13 runs off the last two overs. Jo Turner conceded 6 runs off his first three balls but then took two wickets in two balls. Van Overmeire bowled the last over of the match, Battisford were eight wickets down and could only scramble 5 runs with P.Rushbrook run out off the last ball leaving them one run short of the Mildenhall total. For Mildenhall both Joe Turner and Renu Van Overmeire took 3 wickets and James Taylor took 2.
