Match report Mildenhall 2nd X1 Sunday team produced their best batting performance of the season. They welcomed back to the club Tony Barber who batted as though he had never been away . He and Jordan Francis put on 80 for the first wicket before Barber lost concentration and was bowled for 47 Alex Lack joined Francis and they added 14 before Francis was caught for a well made 25. Tony Cornell paired with Lack and they added a further 59 before Cornell was caught for 27.With Captain Andy Francis missing out it was Peter Webb who joined Lack to pile on the runs . Lack showing some youthful class went on to top score with 55 and Webb batted it out making 46*. Mildenhall completed their innings on 229 for 6. This was the first innings on Bardwell's new laid wicket and it was a testimony to Grass Roots and Andy "H" Carter that it played so well.

The MCC innings had been compiled in light rain. The visitors tried to complete the match, but heavy rain made the conditions difficult for the fielders and bowlers. The umpire stated that he felt it was unsafe and the match was sadly abandoned after 10 overs.
