MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 16 runs

Match report On Sunday Mildenhalls 1st X1’s match against Haverhill got underway but had to be abandoned due to heavy rain. Meanwhile a second Mildenhall X1 once again entertained “ Black Sheep” the nomadic Norfolk club. The purpose of the Black Sheep games is to provide some entertaining cricket and at the same time raise money to give to local children’s charities. Due to the heavy rain Mildenhall declared their innings after 25 overs having reached 133 for 5. Andy Francis topped scored with 49 and Steve Grinling added 33.
Black Sheep fell 16 runs short losing 8 wickets in their 25 overs. There was a rare performance from Mildenhalls Cricket Coach Kevin Boardman who took a well judged slip catch and then proceeded to get snare a couple of wickets with his medium pace bowling.
Thanks to the generosity of players and spectators from the weekends fixtures, Mildenhall were able to hand over a cheque to the Black Sheep for £360
