MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 5 wickets

Match report Play was delayed half an hour to allow for the wicket at the Victory Ground in Bury St Edmunds to dry out following Saturdays rain. When play got underway Woolpit batted first and quickly moved to 27 before Tymal Mills removed danger man Andy Northcote (11), caught behind by wicketkeeper Steve Grinling. Woolpit continued to score at ten an over and raced past 50 thanks to some loose bowling and sloppy fielding. However a second Woolpit wicket fell on 56 when J.Crame was dismissed caught by AJ Warraich off the bowling of Lwana for 19.Lwana soon struck again when Brown (3) was caught behind. Steve Lankester replaced Lwana and stemmed the run rate, however it was the introduction of Joe Reed that tipped the balance towards Mildenhall. He had Rutterford caught on the boundary after scoring a solid 35. He then bowled B.Crame for 7. With D.Large run out and Warraich picking up two late wickets Woolpit closed their innings after 20 overs on 137 for 9.

When Mildenhall batted they were lead by Joe Reed (71) who stroked the ball to all parts. He was partnered by firstly Grinling (12) and then James Holmes (14) before captain Lankester (30) joined him to put on 69 and level the scores with 7 balls to go. Bizarrely both batsmen were then dismissed and Chris Baugh was sent back having been bowled. Lwana however scrambled a single off the fourth ball of the last over to win the semi final for Mildenhall.
