Match report Mildenhall 1st X1 went down to Coggeshall and were asked to bat first on a weather affected pitch. Ben Shepperson lasted just four balls without troubling the scorers and then Azeem Ghumman was run out with the score on 13!. Fran Bester returned to the side following a holiday and together with the inform Andy Squire they took their time and re-established the innings. Mildenhall went passed 50 in the 18th over. The game then swung back to Coggeshall when Bester was bowled for 43 and Squire (16) fell to a catch with the score on 67. James Holmes joined Captain Steve Lankester, and with a hundred on the board by the 31st over it was game on again for Mildenhall. Holmes having just struck a boundary was then caught by W Blackwell off K Bragg for 20 and Tymal Mills (0) lasted just a few balls. Lankester continued to show his intent hitting three sixes but he was finally run out for 43. Karl Holmes added 13 but with Martin Taylor lbw to J Sheals, Mildenhall were bowled out for 149. For Coggeshall K Bragg took 4 for 30.

Coggeshalls innings was soon in trouble. Cross fell lbw to AJ Warraich for 5. Then Tymal Millls struck taking three wickets for just one run that left Coggeshall on 29 for 4. Mills then claimed a fourth wicket when Daniel Baigent caught Sheals (11) 46 for 5 soon became 51 for 6 when Ghumman caught Stockton (4) off first change bowler James Holmes. Ben Shepperson appeared to have captured the vital wicket of opener J Rees (28) and with Baigent trapping C.Lesiak for just 1 Mildenhall had Coggeshall teetering on 79 for 8in the 29 th over. Defiance came however from O Blackwell and together with K Bragg the pair inched forward adding 43. Mildenhall got a break when Bragg (9) was run out. Lankester continued to ring the changes with his bowlers as Coggeshall persisted in fighting on. Azeem Ghumman came into the attack as a nail biting finish had seen Coggeshall within five runs of victory. Two more runs were added before Ghumman took the final wicket of G Blackwell (10) when James Holmes hung on to a catch. O Blackwell was left unbeaten after a brave 58*. Mildenhall claimed 20 points for their 2 run victory.
