MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 91 runs

Match report Mildenhall 1st team hosted Elmstead at Wamil Way as the looked to continue their title challenge. Batting first they were soon in trouble as they lost Fans Bester & Azeem Ghumman to ex-Mildenhall bowler Ady Garnham, as they were 18-2. Ben Shepperson & Alex Reynolds began the repair job, posting a 50 run partnership before Reynolds was run out for 26. This brought stand in skipper Andrew Squre to the crease as he and Shepperson took the score past 150, Squire then fell one run short of a half century as Mildenhall looked for quick runs in the closing overs. Shepperson, who recently made his Suffolk debut, reached his second hundred of the year. Thanks to some big hitting from Shepperson & Birthday boy Tymal Mills, Mildenhall closed on 233-9. Ady Garnham with 5-56 for the visitors.

In reply Mildenhall opening bowlers Mills & Warraich both picked up an early wicket to reduce the visitors to 17-2 before a couple of partnerships kept Elmstead in the game. However, it Mills returned for a second spell and along with leg-spinner Ghumman they sparked a collapse that saw 4 wickets fall for just 4 runs as they fell to 124-9. Ghumman then claimed the final wicket to bowl Elmstead out for 142, finishing with 4-38 and Mills completing his second consecutive 5 wicket haul with figures of 5-46.

With Woolpit dropping 2 points Mildenhall now hold top spot outright.
