MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost Mildenhall lost by 18 runs

Match report Any hopes that Mildenhall 1st X1 might finally win the Two Counties Championship were thwarted on Saturday when they suffered an away defeat by 18 runs at Frinton.
The home team batted first. Frinton opener T Moulton made a half-century and with most of the top order making runs the home side finished on 224 for 8. Tymal Mills picked up 3 for 71 and Steve Lankester claimed 2 for 31.
Chances of a successful chase were soon diminished when Frinton took out 3 of the top Mildenhall batsmen for just 10 runs. Fran Bested lead the fight back and by the 30th over Mildenhall were in front of the run rate after Andy Squire had made 27. However when Bester was adjudged lbw for 89 the match swung towards Frinton. Lankester (16) and Mills (19) played big shots but both perished to catches and Mildenhall lost their last wicket when Warraich was run out. Mildenhall finished on 206 and with news arriving that Woolpit had defeated Lakenheath , Mildenhall were once again left as runners up of the Two Counties league.
