Mildenhall 1st X1 travelled to Haverhill and were asked to bat first. Haverhill’s decision proved to be the correct one, as Mildenhall could not get any momentum going throughout their innings. Tom Westley (5) was the first to go, lbw to A.Gupta. Alex Reynolds (5) struggled to score runs before he edged a catch to wicketkeeper Blanchard off J.Woodley. Erik Laubscher and Alistair Younger dug in, however just as Laubscher looked to have the pace of the wicket he pulled a ball straight to square leg and was gone for 26. Younger (13) was next out when Woodley bowled him. Mildenhalls frustrations continued when Andy Squire having got to 19 and then offered an easy catch to midwicket. Skipper Steve Lankester (30) tried valiantly to accelerate the score but he too perished when he was caught behind off A. Phillips. Adam Trett continued the familiar picture when having patiently reached 21;he too was bowled by Phillips. Karl Holmes (2) and Tymal Mills (2) were both out cheaply. It was left to AJ Warraich to hit a couple of lusty blows before being caught on the boundary by Dellar off Brunning for 13. Great work by all the Havehill bowlers saw Mildenhall dismissed for 145. For Haverhill A. Phillips finished with 3 for 32 and N.Brunning took 3 for 37.

Mildenhall began aggressively. J.Smith retired hurt early on and Warraich sent back both Dellar (19) and Gupta (17) leaving Haverhill on 40 off 14 overs. L.Youngs and K.Blanchard patiently built a partnership and steered the home team passed 100. Lankester finally had Blanchard (31) caught by Laubscher. This however saw Youngs (58*) break free and he raced passed a half-century, as he and Phillips (11*) saw Haverhill home. They won the match comfortably by 7 wickets and 7 overs remaining. Warraich had the best figures for Mildenhall taking 2 for 29 off 12 overs.
