Match report Mildenhall 1st x1 travelled down to Wivenhoe still clinging to a chance of finishing in the top three this season. The home side batted first and looked to be building a launch platform to achieve a score of 200 plus. Opener M Durrell had made 28 and M Condy had posted 50. However with Condy being caught by Erik Laubscher off Jack Beaumont for 55 Wivenhoe then lost 5 wickets for 30 runs and Mildenhall picked up 4 batting points thanks to some fine slow bowling from Jack Bowman who took 5 for 45 off 16 overs. Jack Beaumont gave good support sending down a further 15 overs of spin from the other end and picking up 2 for 52.
Mildenhalls reply was a real roller coaster ride. Adam Trett (15) and Erik Laubscher (39) had an opening partnership of 63 but both then fell quickly to H Burnett. Burnett together with R Savill put the brakes on Mildenhall run rate. Ryan Clark went for 9 and Jack Beaumont was trapped lbw for just 8. Luke Turner was the next to go when he was caught for 28 leaving the visitors on 117 for 5. Ashley Clark made 10 and Karl Holmes grinded out 14 before he and James Holmes departed in quick succession leaving Mildenhall on 143 for 8. Andy Youngs (15*) and Jamie Allen (12*) however held out adding the final 29 required and easing the visitors over the line with an over to spare.
