Match report Mildenhall secured the win by 117 runs

Mildenhall 2nd X1 entertained Exning at Wamil Way on Saturday. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Initially their decision looked wrong when P.Wood attempted a lofted drive and was caught by Ben Tippett o
ff the bowling of Martin Taylor for a duck. This brought to, the wicket the century maker from last week Tim Catley. He continued his fine form stroking the ball to all parts of the ground .He and opener Sam Readman took command and added 94 before Readman (43) was caught on the boundary by Ash Clark off Lou Handys bowling. Mildenhall Captain Lee Chipchase rotated his bowling attack but was unable to stem the run rate. Ben Cross joined Catley and the runs continued to flow at over five an over. Catley reached his second consecutive 100 in the 39th over. Cross completed a half century in the next over as Exning passed 200. Cross (60) was finally out, caught in the deep by James Taylor, ending a well made partnership of 108. Catley majestically strolled on to an unbeaten 126 as the visitors reached 253 for 3.
Mildenhall s attempt at run chasing was thwarted at tea when rain forced the match to be abandoned.
