Mildenhall 2nd x1 entertained promotion contenders Lakenheath at Wamil Way. Mildenhall batted first. All the top order made a start and got into double figures but none could break the shackle imposed by some tight bowling from Greg Palmer, Matt Barber and Tim Milner. Backed up by some good catching and some excellent ground fielding they restricted Mildenhall to 162 for 7 in their 45 overs. Lou Handy top scored with 33 and young Chris Lewis scored 29.
Mildenhall got an early breakthrough when Martin Kingdon trapped Paul Pallant for a duck but this proved a false dawn. Shaun Leech and Ellis Frith took command and guided the ball to all parts and their running between the wickets was superb. Jack bowman fin ally bowled frith for 33,but this only brought in Robbie Horrex (62*) who together with Leech (65) guided the visitors home with a dozen overs to spare
