MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost Mildenhall lost by 81 runs
Match report
Mildenhall 1st X1 travelled down to Coggeshall where a win would put them back amongst the leaders of Division One of the Two Counties league. Coggeshall batted first in a match reduced to 40 overs due to the stormy weather. They made 170 for 7 in their allotted overs with C Bragg top scoring with 33. For Mildenhall, Duncan Fraser put in his best performance of the season bowling 13 overs and taking 3 for 51. Kobus Scholtz shared the majority of the bowling , he also bowled 13 overs and finishing with 2 for 41.Any hope of a run chase for Mildenhall was blown away as they lost both their openers cheaply , Luke Turner (9) and Alex Reynolds (7) and then had both Ben Shepperson and Kobus Scholtz out for ducks. Ryan Clark managed one boundary before he was bowled and Steve Lankester one run before he was caught leaving Mildenhall on 27 for 6. Karl Holmes (22) and Tom Allen (28*) offered a bit of resistance before Holmes was stumped. Last week’s hero James Holmes soon departed after scoring just one run and more trouble followed when Duncan Fraser was run out for 6.When Jack Bowman (9) was bowled Mildenhall had slumped to 89 all out and collected just 3 points
