Match report Mildenhall 1st XI (120-4) defeated Mistley 1st XI (116-10) by 6 wickets
Mistley won the toss and decided to bat on a slightly damper than expected wicket. The early bowling from Steel (2-31) and Tom Allen (2-12) was tight and Mistley struggled to accumulate runs and slipped to 41 for 5 wickets at the end of the 15th over. The Mistley overseas professional Walsh, who had scored 170 against Mildenhall in the reverse fixture was removed by Matt Allen (1-24) with the score on 61 leaving Mildenhall in a strong position. A late flurry of runs from Dove (21) and Smith (29) saw the Mistley score climb to 116 all out with Worthington (2-16) and Reed (2-22) wrapping up the tail.
In reply the Mildenhall opening partnership of Reed (44) and Worthington (20) put on 66 for the first wicket. Despite a few scares along the way Mildenhall eased to a comfortable victory led by skipper Ben Shepperson who remained unbeaten on 27
