Match report Mildenhall 4th X1 batted first at Elveden. The conditions were unhelpful for run making with a slow pitch and a heavy growth of grass on the outfield. Top order batsmen all found ground strokes unrewarding. Tom Heywood made 22 and Alex Wilkens, Andy Francis and Jack Loveday all got into the teens before Captain Lou Handy engendered some increase in the run rate by going aerial. he finished 35* assisted in the main by Lee Chipchase . Mildenhall closed their 45 overs on 137 for 6.
Elveden never got out of first gear and Lee Chipchase and Kiefer Renouf dictated proceedings for 30 overs by which time the home team had crawled to 47 for 5. Mildenhall mopped things up in the next 8 overs. Lou Handy had D Rodic caught in the deep by Renouf for 34 . Pippa Palmer took 2 wickets for nought.and Ewan Kingdon and Kayleigh Francis got a wicket a piece. Elveden were bowled out for 66 .Lee Chipchase finished with 2 for 21 while the stand out bowler was Renouf with 4 for 21.( Ben Stokes was man of the match. Oh sorry that was a distraction on the iPad!)
