Match report Mildenhall reclaimed top spot in Division 1 following their 109 run victory at Frinton. Batting first openers Joe Reed and Steve Taylor put on 86 for the first week before Reed fell for 45. Taylor was then joined by Peter Worthington won made 26. When Taylor fell for 69 Mildenhall were 192-5 it was left to the in from Adam Trett to push his side forward in the final overs. After posting his third consecutive half century Trett was one of 3 wickets to fall on Mildenhall’s final total of 256, finishing 9 wickets down.
In reply it was Steve Taylor who once again started well for Mildenhall picking up 2 early wickets. Frinton fought back well and at 95-2 the game was still very much in the balance. Tom Allen then picked up 2 wickets which along with the introduction of spinner Joe Reed who took 2-15 induced a collapse from the home side as they finished well short, being bowled out for 147.
With leaders Wivenhoe losing Mildenhall are 5 points clear in top spot and host second place Witham this Saturday.
