MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost by 8 wickets

Match report This match had an end-of-season, knock-about, feel about it. We had nothing to win or lose as far as the league was concerned and took the opportunity to blood some young talent into the ways of the premier league. Jonah Handy has had several games this season, picking up the odd wicket each week and is showing that he can handle himself at this level. Mo Ubaid also has fitted in well and excelled himself against Swardeston last week with 4 for 45 off 10. Several other players have played recently and hopefully, now have an idea of what Premier cricket is all about. This is all good for Mildenhall cricket club.
Tristan won the toss and decided to bat. Our openers, Matt and Darren got off to a good start seeing off the first 13 overs for 69. Darren was adjudged LB 1st ball of the next over and Matt was stumped 5th ball of the same. After that wickets fell at regular intervals, every 3 or 4 overs in fact, until, with 121 on the board, Jonah and Tristan put on a stand of 50 before Jonah was adjudged LB. We were finally all out for 177. Despite the low score, only 1 maiden over was recorded!
Was this enough?? Suffice to say, Matthew Hague was not out for 113 at the end of the match and Sawston lost only 2 wickets in the process. A not unexpected result but a disappointing way to lose.
Next week, our last game against Gt Witchingham at home. Will we go out with a bang or a wimper?!
