Mistley CC 1st XI v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 2nd XI - Sat on Sat 29 Jun 2024 at 12.00
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost by 3 wickets
Match report
What a shame we didn’t win this one. Having posted what looked like a winning score we badly let them off the hook by our bowling. Far too many wides, 36 in all, their second highest score. And what a shame that we dropped Sameera Sadamal in the 39th over, that would probably have secured the win.
However, let’s not dwell on our mistakes, rather applaud our positives. An excellent innings by Worthy, 68 of 66, and 36 by Luke Ellis who was unfortunately run out, and 35 from Murtaza. Welcome back Luke. Jonah chipped in with 23 but Peter and Luke did most of the damage with a partnership of 99, before Peter was bowled by Callum Peal-Shankar.
Mistley’s batting was nothing to write home about apart from Sameera Sadamal who scored 78 off 97 and steered them home together with Mr. Extras.
We have slipped a bit in the league but another 4 wins in the second half of the season will more than secure our status in the league. However let’s not get complacent and secondly, let’s reduce the number of extras.
