Match report Mildenhall 2nd X1 travelled across West Suffolk to play Bury St Edmunds 2nd X1 in a Two Counties Division 3 game. Mildenhall batted first. They lost both openers for 33. Luke Turner (61) and Richard Thurston (25) then gave them a launch pad to post a decent total as they added 60. Captain Andy Youngs (19), Craig Warren (32) and Jamie Allen (25*) all waded in with the bat to get Mildenhall up to 205 for 8. For Bury, T.Robotham took 4 for 68.
In reply Bury soon lost both openers to Mildenhalls bowler Jamie Allen. There was then a much stiffer challenger from Bury as M.Rynsard Perry scored 58 and received support from N.Curran (37) and A.Douglas (37). Mildenhall spinners Ben Tippet and Luke Turner picked up a brace of wickets each to swing it back to Mildenhall. However Bury were not done yet. M.Price (30) and S.Nunn (12) narrowed the gap and put a win in sight. Mildenhall turned once again to Allen and he roared in to bowl both Price and Nunn. Bury were left with 199 for 9 when their innings closed, just 7 runs short of victory.
