Mildenhall 2nd X1 entertained Bury St Edmunds 2nd X1 at Wamil Way and invited the visitors to bat first. Andy Youngs claimed the first wicket when he bowled Godden for 1 leaving Bury on just 19 for 1 off the first 10 overs. Bury Captain Curran and Sturgeon patiently raised the score passed 50. Mildenhalls young first change bowler Tom Allen broke the partnership when he had Sturgeon caught behind by Eddie Finnis. Curran and Price took the score to 100 but then Mildenhall switched to a spin attack .Ben Tippet induced Curran to dance down the wicket after competing his 50 and was stumped by Finnis. Then Trett hung on to a sharp caught and bowled chance to dismiss Price for 12. The spin pair picked up another wicket each as Bury moved on to 136 for 6. However the visitors rallied and Douglas (45*) and Cordell (22*) added a 55 run unbroken partnership to allow Bury to close on 191 for 6.

Mildenhall had an early set back when Ryan Clark was out for 0. Chris Baird and Steve Grinling were in no mood to be tied down and took the game to Bury. Bury were also made to pay for dropping Grinling at mid off. He was brutal towards the Bury bowlers hitting boundaries to all corners of the ground. He and Baird raced to 98 in just 12 overs before Grinling punched the ball straight to Thearle, who hung on to the catch and gave Price a wicket. Grinling made 56. Vice Captain Adam Trett joined Baird with a mission that a collapse was not about to happen. Baird and Trett had added 63 when Baird (62) skied a shot and was caught by Curran off the bowling of Robotham. Eddie Finnis joined Trett and the pair had all but finished the run chase when Finnis was caught at deep mid on for 20. Trett soon after hit the winning run to get Mildenhall home by 6 wickets and he remained not out on 44.
