MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 2nd XI - Sat v Sudbury 2nd X1 on Sat 21 May 2011 at 1.00p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 9 runs

Match report Mildenhall 2s hosted Sudbury 2s as they looked to maintain their 100% record in Division 3.
After winning the toss Mildenhall made a brisk start however the loss of openers Chris Baird (10) & Steven Grinling (22) left Mildenhall 55-2.
James Holmes and Adam Trett then formed a patient partnership, before the runs started to flow as both batsmen passed 50. Holmes was the 3rd man out for 61 and once Trett was caught on the boundary for 76 the innings stalled. Some late scampering from the lower order pushed Mildenhall's total to 230 when they lost their final wicket in the 45th over.

Fresh from a 7 wicket haul last week James Holmes picked up the first wicket and along with captain Andrew Youngs kept the Sudbury batsmen behind the run rate. Youngs then struck to take the key wicket of M Pears LBW for 40. Leg spinner Ben Tippet then ripped through the middle order picking up 4-47, including an athletic diving catch from Johno Absolon, to reduce the visitors to 119-6. As the run rate climbed towards 10 an over. Mildenhall appeared to have the game under control as Holmes & Trett now formed partnership with the ball, however batsman S Whitham had other ideas. Batting aggressively with the tail he kept Sudbury in the contest, although Trett picked up 2 wickets & Mildenhall a run out, 15 were needed from Trett's final over with just 1 wicket left.
A tight start to the over built the pressure and despite Whitham being dropped at deep midwicket Sudbury needed 10 off 2 balls. Number 11 B Richardson advanced down the track and was stumped to give a relieved Mildenhall victory by 9 runs & 20 points.
