Match report Mildenhall 4s hosted Long Melford in a top of the table clash in division 7. Batting first Mildenhall struggled against the swing of Melford’s opening bowlers. They had reached 100-2 from the first 30 overs before opener Mark Thurston was dismissed for 52. Neil Clark batted well and struck an aggressive 54 as, despite some ill fortune, Mildenhall finished on 174-6.

In reply Long Melford got off to a flyer and despite regular shuffling his pack captain Nick Allen couldn’t find a successful combination of bowlers. Dropped chances also cost Mildenhall as Melford cruised to their target for the loss of 3 wickets.
The defeat saw Long Melford overtake Mildenhall as the 4ths fell to second place in the league.
