MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Lost Midenhall lost by 5 wickets

Match report Mildenhall 2nd X1 were invited to bat first in their home fixture with Hadleigh. Ryan Clark and Chris Baird began solidly adding 35, before Baird went to on drive and was bowled by Tanner. Jack Beaumont soon departed having middled a cover drive only to see Ellis take a good low catch off Budd. Adam Trett joined Clark and they re established the Mildenhall innings with a partnership of 52 before an opportunist moment saw the Hadleigh bowler Milnes stop a drive from Clark and then turn and run out the backing up Trett (27). Tom Allen and Alex Lack were both dismissed with out making any impact and the home side had half their team out for 89.Jason Moore and Captain Andy Youngs fought back, passing 100 and adding 40 before Moore (18) was bowled by Piddington. Youngs (33*) led the final overs chase with some quick running aided by Richard Thurston (18). Mildenhall managed to post 155 before being all out.

Hadleigh openers scored 50 in reply before Jack Beaumont came on to bowl Davey (19). Henry joined Dias adding 36 then Dias (38) miss timed a hook off Adam Trett and the skied ball came down straight into the gloves of wicket keeper Richard Thurston.Rix and Henry got Hadleigh passed the 100 mark before Beaumont struck again bowling Rix.Piddington went in at number 5 and always looked in control. Mildenhall failed to impose as they tried containment rather than attack to win the match. Dropping four catches did not help their cause. Piddington and Henry took Hadleigh to within 10 runs of victory before Henry (38) was caught by George Aabech Smith off Ackolade, Handley (9) was run out in the final run chase. Hadleigh scored their winning run off the first ball of the final over.
