Copford v MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB 2nd XI - Sat on Sat 01 Jun 2013 at 1.00p.m.
MILDENHALL CRICKET CLUB Won Mildenhall won by 6 wickets
Match report
A remarkable story emerged from the Mildenhall 2nd X1 match away at Copford on Saturday. Just six weeks ago Mildenhalls Françoise Bester broke his leg in three places following a skiing accident in France. He has souvenirs photos of a plate and nine screws that have been inserted into his leg. However with guts and determination he was back playing cricket. The story has a fairy tale finish as Bester despite some mobility problems scored 78 as Mildenhall chased down Copfords total of 134.
Martin Taylor had started the ball rolling when he claimed the first 4 wickets of the home side. Martin Kingdon continued to prove his worth at a higher level also picking up 4 wickets. Young Jack Beaumont who has recently played senior cricket for the county claimed the other two wickets.
With Besters gallant knock ably assisted by Chris Baird (21), Mildenhall won by 6 wickets.
