17 Sep 2012

Mildenhalls final challenge for the elusive Two Counties title vanished when they were defeated by 18 runs by Frinton on Saturday.Things got no better on Sunday when they also lost their Suffolk Cup semi final to Bury St Edmunds. There was a small consolation when the side beat the new Two Counties champions Woolpit in the plate play off. Meanwhile the players in the Mildenhall Sunday 2nd X1 got together last Thurday night at the Worlington Walnut Tree to celebrate their winning of the Hunts County Division 4 league and gaining promotion and then on Saturday all members enjoyed an evening and disco at the club as the league season closed.

Yesterday also saw Mildenhall take on the Black Sheep in the annual charity cricket match. This year Mildenhall lost by 25 runs, however the real winner was that £370 was raised for local childrens charities. A big thanks to all who took part in either preparing or playing and to all the club members who once again contributed towards the money raised.
